When are income taxes due?

Individuals and most business owners must file their income tax returns by April 30 of the year following the tax year for which the return is being filed. Since April 30 is a Sunday, the tax filing deadline for your 2022 tax return is May 1, 2023.

If you are self-employed, however, the CRA extends the filing deadline to June 15, but it begins assessing interest on your tax due on April 30.

Can I claim COVID-19 work-from-home expenses in 2022?

Yes, employees who earn T4 income and work from home can continue to use the temporary flat rate method ($2/day).  In 2022 the maximum claim is $500.

I am an international student.  Am I eligible for tax credits while in Canada?

Yes, international students can file tax and get refund & GST/HST credits.

I am an international student and I received a letter from the CRA regarding foreign income.  What do I do?

If you filed taxes with us last year, you would have received a printed copy of your World Income.  Attach the letter to the return mail and send it to the CRA address.   If you misplaced your world income statement, don't hesitate to email us with your full name and we will email you a new copy.

What documents do I bring to my meeting?

Where is my appointment?

Due to the threat of the Omicron variant of COVID-19, we only conduct visual meeting with clients.  You can send the meeting request by text to (416) 817-6818.  We will send you google meet link invite you to joint the meeting.

How can I pay for my e-file fee?

Our tax filing fee schedule can be found here.  You don't pay until after your tax filing appointment with us and your taxes have been successfully eFiled. You can e-transfer the payment to info@newlinecommerce.com

How do I cancel my appointment?

When you booked an appointment with us, you were forwarded a confirmation email with a cancellation link.  If you cannot find the email, please email us at info@newlinecommerce.com, or text your message to (416) 817-6818
